The Trust Deficit

Layoffs, program uncertainty, an unsettled teacher contract, and a lack of communication have created a trust deficit. Trust is rebuilt through communication, transparency, and accountability.

  • Multiple years of teacher layoffs
  • Uncertainty in which extra-curricular and academic programs will be eliminated.
  • A new Business Administrator
  • More than a year without a negotiated teacher contract
  • Outsourcing beloved paraprofessionals
  • Deferred maintenance
  • A yearly $10 Million structural deficit
  • A lack of communication

All of this has led to a massive trust deficit. We cannot solve our problems without restoring that trust.

Trust is rebuilt through communication, transparency, and accountability. Larry is dedicated to building a world where BOE members, town leaders, residents, caregivers, students, teachers and administrators work together to figure out how to best apply the limited resources we have to maximize the quality of education in our town. The environment we are in is not one that makes this an easy task.

As we look ahead to another challenging budget cycle, Larry will take every opportunity to rebuild that trust.

When we fight, our town’s children lose. Our kids deserve a plan, and Larry will work with everyone in West Orange to find solutions. A vote for Larry is a vote to build a world where we work together to restore trust and solve problems.
